ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR SUMMER CLASS IN NYC HOUSING PROGRAM 2013:

1. Must be 18 years of age or over (proof of age required).
2. Must show proof of college enrollment for SPRING 2013.
3. Must show proof of summer college class enrollment in NYC.
4. Must pay for the entire summer housing program.
5. Must complete orientation questionnaire with a passing grade.

Spaces will be given on a first come, first serve basis. Rooms will be minimally clean due to the limited amount of time following spring turnover. Switches are only allowed if approved by the Residential Life Department.

• APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE APPROVED UNTIL ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ARE SUBMITTED/UPLOADED (See Eligibility Requirements). To expedite processing of your application we recommend that you submit all documents at the same time.
• Applicants will reside at Kaufman Hall located at 406 W. 31st Street, NY, NY 10001 (unless otherwise noted). All suites consist of furnished rooms, kitchens, private baths and wireless internet access.
• You are responsible for providing your own kitchen supplies, linens, pillow(s) & blanket(s).
• Roommate requests: Choosing a roommate is strongly recommended. Roommates are randomly assigned to applicants who have not paid for a single. Single spaces are limited. Spaces will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. We DO NOT place males and females as roommates
• ORIENTATION QUESTIONNAIRE: ALL RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE ORIENTATION QUESTIONNAIRE WITH A PASSING GRADE REGARDLESS OF A PREVIOUS FIT SUMMER STAY. Once your payment has been received orientation information will be emailed to you.
• Residence Hall Summer Move-out date is 11AM on your contracted end date, August 4, 2013. Arrangements for move-out must be made prior to these dates. NO EXCEPTIONS.
• Damages: Residents will be held financially responsible for any damages to the room, furnishings and common areas beyond reasonable wear. Residents may not remove any of the furnishings. Residents must return keys/ID to the Residential Life Department upon check out.
• There is limited resident assistant coverage during summer session. The college does not provide supervision. Social programming is limited. There are no curfews. There is 24 hour security in the lobby and a counselor for emergency calls when the residential life office is closed. Residents will assume responsibility for themselves and/or any guest. It is expected that residents and their guests adhere to the rules and regulations of the residence halls.
• Resident agrees to abide by the rules and regulations set by the order of the President of the College governing the use of the residence hall facilities. The personal conduct of every resident must be in keeping, at all times, with the high standards of students and faculty of the college as a public institution of learning. Any violation of these regulations may result in immediate eviction from FIT Housing Facilities and future housing requests will not be honored.
• FIT is a "dry campus" - alcohol and drugs are prohibited.
• NO REFUNDS once payment is made.
• Refunds will not be granted to students who are dismissed from the residence halls.
• Overnight Visitation: Overnight visitors must be pre-registered before 4PM on their date of arrival. A $10.00 fee per visitor per night is charged. Payment must be made online upon receipt of your bill sent to the email address entered above. Failure to pay any outstanding balance will result in loss of overnight visitation privileges. As a reminder, FIT is closed on Fridays. Friday payments will not be processed until Monday. Please plan accordingly to avoid having your privileges suspended. Overnight visitation is limited to 8 overnight visitors per 30 days not exceeding 2 consecutive nights. Residents may not have two overnight visitors in the same night without PRIOR approval from Residential Life. No extended overnight visitation is allowed in the summer, NO EXCEPTIONS. Residents may not have an overnight visitor on the same night as their roommate. All other visitation rules and regulations apply.

  I have read the above and understand that I must abide by the above policies. I agree to depart the residence halls by 11AM on my contracted end date and leave my room free of damage and in move-in condition.

Once your application is submitted you will receive an email confirmation. YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE APPROVED AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PAY UNTIL ALL NECESSARY "PROOFS OF INTERNSHIP" OR "PROOFS OF SUMMER CLASS IN NYC" HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED. TO EXPEDITE THE PROCESSING OF YOUR APPLICATION IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU SUBMIT ALL DOCUMENTS AT THE SAME TIME.
